Statement of Faith

  Inspiration of Scripture

We believe the Bible (66 books of the Old and New Testaments) is the clear, inerrant, inspired, and the authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12-13)

God

We believe that there is only one true and living God. He is the Creator and sustainer of all things. His is one God that exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each Person is equal in essence. (Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19; Acts 5:3-4; Hebrews 1:3-10; Colossians 2:9; John 1:1-3)

Man

We believe that man is created in the image of God, but in his fallen state is a sinner, dead in his trespasses, alienated from God and without hope. (Gen 1:27; Eph. 2:1-2; Rom. 3:23)

Salvation

We believe we are not saved by our own good works, but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ suffered and died for the world and that sinners must repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ, which results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9; Mark 1:14-15; Philippians 2:6-11; I Peter 2:24; John 3:6-7, 16-21)

Christ

We believe in the incarnation, deity, virgin birth, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 1:18; John 1:1-3,14; John 20:26-29; I Corinthians 15:1-20)

Church

We believe the local church is essential for followers of Christ. It is mandated by Christ as the chief place for his followers to gather and grow in his likeness. (Acts 2:42-47; Matthew 18:19-20; Hebrews 10:24-25; I Corinthians 12:12-27)

Heaven and Hell

We believe in a visible and physical return of Jesus Christ to this earth to judge the world in righteousness. We believe in the resurrection of all people. Those who have placed their faith in Christ will be judged to the resurrection of life, and those who have rejected Him are judged to the resurrection of eternal damnation. (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; John 3:36; John 5:28-30; Luke 16:19-31)

Marriage

We believe that God defined marriage as the life-long covenant between one man and one woman. Any form of sexual activity outside of marriage is sin. (Gen 1:27-31; Lev. 18; Matt 19: 4-6; Rom. 1:26-32; 1 Cor. 6:18-20; Heb. 13:4; I Thess. 4:1-8)

Sanctity of Life

We believe that every human being is created by God and life begins at conception and that abortion is a sin. (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:13-14) 

Gender Identity

We believe that God immutably creates each person to reflect His image as male or female, sexually different but with equal personal dignity. Any attempts to physically change, alter, or disagree with one’s predominant biological sex — including but not limited to elective sex-reassignment, transvestite, transgender, or non-binary “genderqueer” acts or conduct are sinful. (Gen. 1:26-28; Deut. 22:5; Rom. 1:26-32; I Cor. 5:1; 6:9-11, 11:3-15)
